Italian A2 Course Overview

After completing the Elementary course - our Italian A2 level program designed in accordance with the CEFR international standard - you'll be able to confidently:

  • Understand and use expression in topics like family, employment, shopping, and geography.
  • Communicate in routine tasks and exchange information on familiar and routine matters.
  • Describe in simple terms aspects and matters of immediate need.

What You'll Learn

Communication Skills

By the end of the A2 level Italian program, you'll be able to:

  • talk about travels and activities you enjoyed;
  • relate events from your past and your childhood, including interesting stories;
  • describe your past life, giving details about important milestones;
  • talk about wellness and good habits;
  • talk about your health and the activities and sports you do to be fit;
  • describe an accident or injury, get medical help from a doctor and fill a prescription for medicine;
  • talk about relocation and home improvements;
  • entertain someone in your home or visit a friend or colleague in their home;
  • talk about and explain the rules of games;
  • discuss clothing and what kind of clothes you like to wear;
  • engage in essential communication in stores;
  • discuss your cultural interests and talk about movies you like and choose a movie with friends;
  • offer polite suggestions and express opinions;
  • describe restaurant experiences and compare tastes and flavours
  • talk about your future and work career;
  • engage in basic communication at work, including attending meetings on familiar topics;
  • talk about the natural world and opportunities to see animals and natural areas.

  • tenses of the verbs to be, to have, modals, regular in -ARE, -ERE, -IRE, reflexive, and main irregular verbs;
  • indicative imperfect;
  • indicative simple past;
  • indicative future simple;
  • imperative;
  • conditional present;
  • combined use of indicative simple past and imperfect;
  • impersonal form with si;
  • direct and direct combined pronouns;
  • partitive pronoun ne;
  • agreement between direct object pronouns and past participle;
  • relative pronouns;
  • comparative and superlative adjectives;
  • indefinite adjectives (alcuni, qualche, nessuno);
  • advebs of manner (-mente);
  • coordinating conjunctions (e...e, o...o, sia...sia, né...né);
  • subordinating conjunctions (però, mentre, perché, siccome, prima di);
  • stare + gerund, stare per + infinitive.
